ATA DAVE Commercial Door Operator Features
DAVE runs roller doors, steel roller shutters, sectional doors and bi-fold doors from the one powerhead. An installer used to need a separate motor for each door type on a job. Now it’s one unit, which means less to stock and less to specify.
The motor is the big change from older commercial operators. Most run a standard induction motor. DAVE uses a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor at 97% efficiency, the same tech used in EVs and industrial robotics. It delivers torque instantly and brings the door to a controlled stop rather than ramping down on a timer. That control comes from SureTrack, an absolute position encoder that tracks exactly where the door is throughout its travel.
Power input works the same way. DAVE takes a low voltage single phase Omnivolt cartridge or a three phase one. Same powerhead either way. A small tenancy on single phase and a loading dock running three phase can both run the same unit, without a different model number for each.
If the power goes out, LiftMate engages the manual chain automatically so the door can still be opened by hand. ProfileIQ keeps working in the background too, adjusting as the door’s springs settle and its behaviour changes over the years, so it doesn’t need a manual recalibration down the track.
