The MRC950EVO Has Been Replaced By The Grifco LR Drive
The Merlin MRC950 and MRC950EVO light commercial roller door openers are discontinued. Grifco, the commercial arm of Merlin, replaced them in 2018 with the LR Drive GLD-RDO, which is the direct upgrade.
If you are replacing a failed MRC950 or MRC950EVO, the LR Drive is what you need. It handles the same class of door, corrugated sheet roller doors up to 28m² and 270kg, and mounts in the same way.
What you gain over the old model: more power at 1300N, a thinner housing needing only 45mm of side room, a faster 21 second opening on a 2.4m door, dedicated open and close terminals for shopfront grilles, myQ smartphone compatibility, and a wired battery backup included as standard rather than as an extra.
Still Running An MRC950EVO?
The opener is discontinued but the parts that keep it going are not.
Remotes: the MRC950EVO uses Security+ 2.0 remotes, so the Grifco E960G remains the correct replacement and is still available.
To pair a new remote, press and hold the button on the remote you want to use, then press and release the learn button on the opener. Release when the opener confirms.
If the motor itself has failed rather than an accessory, the LR Drive GLD-RDO is the replacement unit.
