This is the powerhead on its own, intended for replacing a failed motor where the existing Merlin rail is in good condition and staying in place. It does not include a rail.
If you are installing from scratch, or your old rail is worn, you need one of the rail versions instead. Rails are sized to the door: 3.0m for sectional doors up to 2.2m high, 3.3m for sectional doors up to 2.5m, a 1000mm extension for doors from 2.5m to 3.5m, and a 2.0m tilt rail for tilt doors up to 2.3m.
The powerhead is compatible with existing Merlin C-rail assemblies. If you are unsure whether your current rail will suit, get in touch before ordering.
Merlin MS107MYQ Replaces These Older Models
The MS107MYQ Commander Elite II is the current model, replacing the MS105MYQ Commander Elite. The MS105MYQ in turn replaced the MT100EVO Tiltmaster, along with the older MT5580, MT600, MT800 and MT1000. If you are replacing a failed powerhead from any of these units, this is the direct upgrade.
Compared to the MS105MYQ the power, door area and headroom are unchanged at 1000N, 20m² and 30mm. What has changed is the lighting, now corner-to-corner LED, and the supplied remotes, now the four button E975M.

Merlin MS107MYQ Powerhead Features
The Commander Elite II is the current generation of Merlin’s sectional and tilt door opener range, replacing the MS105MYQ Commander Elite. Bought as a powerhead, it is the straightforward fix for a motor that has failed on an otherwise sound installation, keeping your existing rail and door hardware in place.
It handles spring balanced sectional and tilt doors up to 20m², 3.5m high, 5.7m wide and 150kg, with 1000N of pulling force and a quiet DC motor rated at 54dB from one metre. Corner-to-corner LED lighting is the visible change from the previous model, adjustable from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Soft start and soft stop keep operation smooth, automatic force sensing adjusts the force needed with every cycle, and the premium automatic safety reverse stops and reverses the door if it meets an obstruction on the way down.
The supplied E975M four button remotes use Security+ 2.0 rolling code encryption, sending a new code with every press. By transmitting across 433.30, 433.92 and 434.54 MHz the remotes select the strongest frequency each time, which virtually eliminates interference and prevents code grabbing devices from replaying the signal to open your door.
Battery backup is available through the optional M-BBU24V accessory, and myQ smartphone control through the myQ Connectivity Bundle. Merlin note that myQ works with sectional garage doors only, not tilt doors.
