Planetary gearing is typically used on Series 2 roller doors, and fix into the side of the roll of the door. This allows you to then thread the chain through the inserts of the Chain Guide, and pull to open or close your door. This is great for when you have a door that is too large to be operated by hand, but there is not enough room for a motor.
