The cable itself is 2.8m long and constructed with high quality, rust & corrosion resistant steel that has a max breaking point of 900Kg. This means that even if one cable frays to the point of snapping the door will still be suspended.

With an expected life of 10,000 cycles these cables are suitable for nearly every residential application.
