Features
Gaps around your sectional garage door are more than just a draught problem. The Auto Openers Ember & Dust Seal closes those gaps with a flame retardant bristle brush fitted to a robust aluminium carrier, running along both sides and the top of your door opening.
Installation is a straightforward DIY job. As supplied, the kit suits a sectional door up to 2250mm high x 5500mm wide. If your door differs (say 2500h x 5000w, or anything smaller) simply cut the lengths to suit. The included fixings are also larger than industry standard, because a seal is only as good as what’s holding it to the wall.
The flame retardant bristle brush has been independently tested by AWTA Product Testing (NATA accredited) to AS 1530.2-1993, achieving a Flammability Index of just 1, well within the ≤5 threshold required under AS 3959:2018 for construction in bushfire-prone areas. This makes the Ember & Dust Seal suitable for homes rated BAL-12.5, BAL-19 and BAL-29, where sealing gaps against ember entry is a key line of defence. The aluminium carrier is non-combustible.
Beyond fire protection, the brush seal works all year round to keep dust, pests, wind and driving rain out of your garage. If your garage is attached to the home or used as a workshop, the difference in air quality and temperature is noticeable from day one.
