Merlin MS105MYQ Garage Door Opener Features
First introduced in 2009 the Merlin Tilt series, also known as the “MT” series of Tilt, Sectional and Panel openers are one of the most commonly seen roller door openers in Australia. Building upon 10+ years of history, the MS105MYQ offers high quality operation at a low price, with advanced safety features such as slow start / stop, auto reverse and interference free remote controls.
This kit includes the 2m ‘820 CR5’ tilt rail, which is specifically designed for J-type or T-type garage doors. The name just refers to the type of fittings used, being J for jamb fittings and T for track fittings. A Jamb type tilt door tilts outward and then lifts up to open half inside and half sitting outside the opening of the garage. A T-type is the newer style, which tilts the door upward and backwards to recess the door into the garage.
What this means, however, is that the door does not travel as far along a normal rail compared to a standard sectional door. Modern garage door openers will detect as a fault and not allow you to set the limits. The 2m Merlin 820 CR5 rail is 2m long, with special gearing that carefully lifts your door, whilst tricking the motor into thinking it’s opening a standard door. Many tilt doors are also used when there are obstructions in the way, such as bulkheads, lights, or ceiling height differences. This tilt type rail and door is recommended for all tilt door installations.
